On our way to 31 weeks.....

Happy New Year from the Kayes! It has been a great holiday season and I am very sad that it is over. Hopefully 2010 will bring new and exciting adventures for everyone. Baby Kaye is officially the size of a head of lettuce and a little over 3 pounds. Can you believe she will be here so soon??? The past few weeks we have been slowly getting ready for her arrival. We picked up and assembled the crib and changer. This was very exciting because it came sooner than we expected. I also picked up a few more crafting projects for her nursery including Martha Stewart Tissue Poms (that has been a disaster lol) and making her a hair bow holder. When the nursery is completed I will of course post pictures of my craftiness. It is quite humorous because Saul listens to me discuss my "concepts" for her room every evening!

This weekend we hit up Pottery Barn Kids and found some cute antique letters on sale and also the baskets for her changer (who knew baskets were so spendy)! Saul's sister Alexia was nice enough to lend us a TON of baby stuff including a infantino carrier, diaper pale, boobie pump, and lots of clothes. Each week we are knocking things off the list and my OCD just gets more intense :)

I have been thinking over the past few weeks what I look forward to the most once she gets here. After really thinking about it I feel that her just becoming a part of our family and seeing how she fits in. My sister is going to make such amazing aunt or Douda and I can't wait for her to get to learn from her as she grows. My mom is already an amazing person but I think she will most definitely be an amazing grandmother. Baby Kaye really does not know how lucky she is to have my family. Most of all though I can't wait to see Saul as a dad. He is so hands on already with everything and has created a routing of talking to her in the morning and before we go to bed. His New Years resolution was to be as he would say "an awesome dad" which I know he will be. Well my OCD is telling me to go unload the dishwasher because it is all that is left to do cleaning wise.

I will leave you with a series of random pictures. The first is the changer complete with baskets and all. Please notice the cupcake I hand painted on Sarah's birthday weekend for Baby Kaye and also the silver elephant given to me by Saul while we saved for engagement. The second is a picture of the crib and yes Saul is attempting to climb in. The third picture is of Chanel and I during her jealous moment as I unloaded the clothes . The fifth and final picture is my 30 week belly shot (sorry about the bad view).

Have a great New Year!!!

Love,
The Kayes

27 weeks 4 days!!!

Well we are on the final count down. Less than three months to go with so much to do! This past weekend we spent doing some holiday shopping and attending holiday work parties. We had a great time but it was strange to think that next year she will be here to go with us.
Saul that it was quite funny that I have become the pregnant lady waddling through the mall. I definitely cannot shop like I used to but I am getting to know all the major restrooms in each mall. Our crib is in and as soon as it is picked up and assembled we will post pictures. We don't have a major update this weekend besides just being busy with work and getting ready for the holidays. I do have some pictures to leave you with from this weekend and the growing belly. Have a great Sunday!!!

Love,
The Kaye Family

Well we are finishing up week 26..........

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!!! I am of course behind on giving an update on our family but it has been a very busy few weeks. I made a trip to Oklahoma with my mom and sister to visit the Dubriwny/McKain/Woods Family :) We had such a great time and I was even surprised with a baby shower. Actually I was shocked and am so thankful for all the support and love everyone has for Baby Kaye.

In the past few weeks Saul and I have been preparing for Baby Kaye including hospital tour 1, lots of shopping (obviously my favorite part), and preparing the nursery. Saul and my dad spent a Saturday installing the chair railing and it was quite fun to see them working together. Now he is spending most of his time painting, painting, and more painting. Below are some pictures of Saul painting yellow below the chair railing and it is quite the shade of yellow. After he finished we will move the furniture in and actually get to decorate which I have been patiently waiting for. There is also a picture of the clothing dividers I made for her closet (which are most def. homemade) but I had a very good time crafting and then organizing the clothes we have acquired so far.

Just about 21 weeks!!!

Well our little girl has cooked for just about 21 weeks now!! Hooray! It has been a busy two weeks for the Kaye Family (again)! My sister turned.......well we won't say how old and I spent the weekend in Bend helping her celebrate along with my mom. We painted pottery and ate lots of food. That same weekend Saul moved us into our new place in Lake Oswego. We are finally all moved in and getting used to the new digs. The dogs seem very happy and we are loving all the space. This past weekend we carved pumpkins, sat by the fire, and then on Sunday we registered at Babies R Us. Saul and I were both overwhelmed with the number of choices. I can say I was probably the only one walking around with a husband chewing sunflower seeds and scanning the gun without any direction. So if you see duplicates blame Saul :) I am still without much of a baby bump so I thought I would leave you all with a pregnancy survey. Have a great Monday and I will be sure to update again soon!

  • How far along?: 20 weeks 5 days
  • Total weight gain: Well about 4 pounds
  • Maternity clothes: Just two pairs of work pants so far
  • Sleep: Sucks but what do you expect when you are told to only sleep on your side lol
  • Best moment of the week: Carving pumpkins by the fire with Saul in our new place
  • Movement: Yes quite a few kicks every day
  • Gender: GIRL!!!
  • Food cravings: Anything with pumpkin...........I really mean anything
  • Labor signs: No
  • Bell button in or out: In
  • What I miss most: I miss a nice glass of wine with dinner
  • What I'm looking forward to: Looking pregnant so it feels more real and getting the nursery ready for a our little lass
  • Weekly wisdom: Registering for your wedding much easier than baby. And do not go to Babies R Us on sale day...talk about crazy parents!
  • Milestones: Baby Kaye is the size of a banana!!!

We made it to 18 weeks!!!

Well we are long over due for an update on Baby Kaye. Today I am 18 weeks 3 days and our little one weighed 10 ounces (that is 2 ahead of schedule). The past few weeks have been busy but also quite exciting. At 16 weeks we planned a surprise trip for my mom. She showed up to our house on a Saturday expecting to go shopping with me for baby clothes. That morning I convinced her that Saul really wanted to come with us and that he would drive. Instead of taking her shopping we made our way to Beaverton to the Portland Ultrasound Clinic. It was so much fun to see the look on her face she truly had no idea!!! For me this was the best part because I am terrible at not giving away surprises. We spent over an hour at the clinic with one very stubborn baby but after eating pixie stixs, running the stairs, and shaking the belly we found out we had a baby GIRL!!!! I think we were all shocked but so excited at the same time. Yesterday, I had another ultrasound through my doctor and they confirmed we have a little girl!!! Let the shopping begin.........

I know everyone is eager for belly pictures but there still is not much to show. As soon as I start growing I will post those on here along with the ultrasound pics!!!

What else has the Kaye Family been up to??? Well we are getting ready to move next weekend so that has kept us pretty busy. Last weekend we went apple picking at an orchard in Brooks! We had such a great time and are now overwhelmed with apples. I guess that is all for today and I will start updating this little blog more often (okay Sees??)

The First Family Update

Well it has been an exciting summer and I thought to start this blog off right an update is much needed! Saul and I were married on May 09, 2009 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort. We had such a great time and were surrounded by our amazing family and friends. I was shocked by how many wanted to be part of our big day. My mom (most amazing person ever, seriously) was the one that truly made our big day possible and it was so much fun to plan it with her. We had a fabulous time and an even better wedding day. In June, Sarah (the fabulous sister) also tied the knot. We got the amazing opportunity to celebrate with her in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was such a great trip and of course she looked absolutely stunning on her big day! Once we returned from the Virgin Islands we discovered that well.........we were expecting our first addition to our family! It was quite the surprise but we are thrilled to be starting our family and waiting on Baby Kaye. We are both keeping busy right now with work and our two fabulous dogs (Bosworth and Chanel). At the end of October we will be moving to Lake Oswego, Oregon which will be a nice change from the downtown city life. Right now we are both just so excited to be parents and really begin our lives together!

*Our hope for this blog is to provide our friends and family the opportunity to be part of our this special experience. We will do our best to provide regular updates on Baby Kaye's progress, fun pictures, and any new experiences taking place.

A Few Wedding Photos!

Thank you so much Michelle from Toner Photography!!! You did such an amazing job and it was so much fun to work with you!!!!
